A glimpse of what we've got in store this Friday ...
It was certainly entertaining by my count to have the stage setup the way it was Wednesday night. Much of the band is right up front and seemingly more a part of worship. Only drawbacks were that everyone's favorite horn section was stashed back in the far corner and the percussionist area was pretty well hidden behind the new location for the drum kit.
Be that as it may, there was some great song selection for the night and Israel always seems to be the surest to break from the routine that we sometimes find ourselves in. I think I was commanded to address/pray with those seated around me more than any Marcos Witt sermon ever. Seeing a service with Israel & Stephen leading the way was also a treat that I don't recall offhand whether we've gotten to see before.
Be sure to make an excuse to catch the concert on Friday. You might find yourself on a DVD later this year.

This was an amazing service. It truly spoke to me. God was truly present that night. I almost missed it because it I was supposed to work that night, but it got cancelled at the last minute. I'm glad it was. Israel was full of energy, as usual, and it's rare to see the choir on a Wednesday night. So I knew from there it was going to be something special. Would it be much trouble to post the first 2 songs they did: Better Than Life and Still Standing? I felt like they were making another CD there was so much energy in the room.
I second Reggie's request. If you could Greg, could you at least put up the opening song? I wasn't able to make it out for what sounds like an amazing night. Many thanks!
Here ya go.
Amazing is a good word for last night!
on a side note check out Cindy's new website:

apparently, a solo cd is in the works!!!
Wow! What a service that was! It was absolutely amazing! I really like the stage setup like that. Do you know if it's permanent or if it's just set up like that for the Michael W. Smith Friday recording?
Just for Friday. Though, if it were an easy adjustment, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them lose the bandstands for at least Wednesday nights.
We were at rehearsal til about 10:15 last night. It's going to be another AMAZING time with the Lord tonight at Lakewood. You will see some familiar background vocalists: Aimee Beard, Fiona and Michael Mellet and Stephan Jackson representin'! Christa Black is also back with touring with Michael Dub. She's stopped by Lakewood before. Her solo cd is fantastic! My favorite of her songs is I'm Still Here. You can check her out @ http://www.myspace.com/christablack
Parking MAY open at 5:30 if there is a boatload of traffic clogging the feeder and side streets, just as a heads up. Get there AS EARLY AS YOU CAN for a good seat. Doors open at Noon but you can't get in the sanctuary til 6:30 or so.
I was hoping Christa would be a part of the band on Wednesday. I've always been partial to "California Sunshine" myself.
Great to know that some of our ensemble cast will have a role on the project. All the more reason to look forward to tonight. Thanks as always for the update!
