Sunday Video: Lakewood Choir "Thou Art A Shield For Me"

The Lakewood Choir, doing what they do ... sing:

I may just be suffering from temporary memory lapses here, but I'm thinking the choir's done this before. But since it's not in the video archives here, it looks like the first post I'm doing of it.

Work still intervenes, so if blogging goes light this week, that's my excuse. Still a couple of more takes from the Speaking of Faith podcast, though. Which is to say ... I'll probably be up a while tonight blogging my fingers to the nub.

Yeah, we've done "Thou, oh Lord" before. I wanna say we even did it when Dakri was still with us but I might be wrong. From what they tell us it's a congregation fav. I'm waiting for us to do "Days of Elijah" again; it seems like it's been a while for that one too.

Interesting. I'm not the world's biggest fan of choral music, but I'd definitely suggest that this song has a certain vibe to it that doesn't come across in any other song done by the choir.

I'd love to see "Days of Elijah" done again, but I'm convinced that only Heath can do it justice.

i believe this is the third time the choir sang this song. it was first with dakri then twice under michael mellet.

and i do know that you have this one on file already...i've watched it on one of your videos before too....its like way way back...

i wanna see days of elijah too...and brighter day by kirk franklin...they only sang that during the sat service.
