Something for yours truly to be completely psyched about ... new Michael Sweet tunes by year's end. It seems the motif of the moment for all of Stryper is going to be "cover tunes." Sure, there's an original tune on Sweet's upcoming CD and I'm guessing there'll be new tunes on the next Stryper release. But the big sell on the latter is that the band is covering Boston's "More Than a Feeling."

For the time being, the latest work by Michael is good enough for me. Helps that some of the covers are covers of Stryper songs. But how could you not love Michael Sweet covering Roberta Flack and Bette Midler???

I'm pre-ordering this sucker.

More seriously (well, my threat to pre-order was serious), the story behind the making of this CD is worth highlighting. Many of us online Stryper denizens kept Kyle Sweet (Michael's wife) in our prayers as she fought ovarian cancer. Their daughter is raising funds for cancer research in case you see fit to chip in a bit.
