YouTube Tuesday: Joshua Perahia

Back to a musical moment here with the YouTubes. This week's entry originates from a relatively unknown Christian rock band - Joshua - that has by this video's emergence in 2001 morphed into the solo project of guitarist Joshua Perahia.

To be honest, this was a band totally under my radar back in the 80s. By the time I stumbled onto them several months ago, however, I was really regretting that. Take a gander and see if it does anything for you ...

Great find! They should be on rotation on KSBJ at least! Since, I love almost all things guitar at this time, not bad there also!

These guys have never been under the radar. I have 6 albums by them, and this man, a true man of God, is awesome. He never hid behind gimmicks, like bumble bee clothing, or lip stick and hair spray. He has the best songs, and shredding solo's, that make you cry, or just say Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I love this band, who has toured the world, and stands above any band. Joshua is the King of Christian rock, because "his songs sound Great". Sorry my Christian brothers, but other Christian bands, just never have the quality of secular groups. Joshua took his Christian message, with the quality of the world's best bands.

Mr. Harrelson,

Thanks for the post. I forgot about my first post back in August on Joshua. I've been revisiting several YouTube Tuesday videos this week. Great, I'll definitely give his video another spin (most likely more than one) today.

Hello,

I am Joshua Perahia's manager. I just stumbled across you page here, very cool that you've got this video posted. I have many more Joshua Perahia videos posted (about 10) on his MySpace Page at www.myspace.com/joshuaperahia....they are all also posted at YouTube.com and GodTube.com . Also at his MySpace page we've posted several songs and lots of photos and a complete bio! Hope to see you all there!

Peace and blessings,
Steve Brownlee

This is the most mind bending video I have ever seen. Are they mounting camera's near or on the fingers? WHOA!!! This guitarist moves near light speed. I mean it looks sped up but sounds real time. I loved the song the first time I heard it. I plan on going to the web site his manager Steve Brownlee said to. I heard these guys are huge everywhere in the world except the United States. Are we just dumb or something? This kicks a**. This is like Tommy Bolin playing speed guitar meets Journey on steroids. I have watched the video 15 times. I still can't keep up with the guitar. The singer is incredible. This is a keeper for me.
