August 22: Lakewood Worship Recording

Via uber-commenter, Matt (and since I managed to miss the updated program from Wednesday) ...

Wednesday, August 22 ... be there. Oh, and kudos on use of the photo with Joel Camey & Michael Hodge. Wise choice. Lots of nice tweaks they've made to the music and performance during praise & worship. They should all come out nicely when it's time to put together the finished product for this.

I've just discovered Cover the Earth, which was recorded a few years back. Similar to last year's Free to Worship, I love ALL the songs. With each new song they've introduced thus far and will in the coming year, I suspect that they will make their way into the next installment.

Pastor Joel mentioned last weekend, mind you in another poignant sermon, that he likes the addition of the guitar and Israel Houghton type songs to the mix. Granted, the tradition of old songs and an organ are good, but change is also good. Frankly, I do miss some of the oldies but goodies. But, God charged us to come into His courts with new songs and methods, so shephard in the new! We should not remain stagnant or complacent.

On a final note, perhaps I'm being biased, but Lakewood Choir and Band are far above all. They are blessed along with other areas of our "little" church. May God continue to bless them.
