I've done it again. Thought I'd pick up one of the other Peterson books, but got sidetracked when I took another look at Miroslav Volf's "Free of Charge." You can check out the first chapter of the book here. To me, this one seemed to just sing to me a little more than the alternative.
Speaking of books that sing, another one for future reading is Bill Henderson's "Simple Gifts." This one is centered around Henderson's walk of faith and the role that traditional hymns have had on it. As one who shares that sort of relation to music and faith, it sounds like an optimal fit. Definitely have to work this one in over the summer.
As for some music for the month, I'm thoroughly enjoying DecembeRadio's self-titled release. But I'm also looking forward to Stryper's "Roxx Regime Demos" that ships on 7-7-07 and Jacque Deshetler's "Signal" (tunage on MySpace for now) which ought not be too far behind. It's a pretty good month for music fans.
