Well, I'm still swamped with work-related stuff. Otherwise, I wish I could unwind enough to go into some depth on what the Easter service was like this past weekend. Once again, Dominique to the rescue with a great recap. I can't recall the last time I enjoyed the praise and worship as thoroughly as I did this past weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get any feed to relive a great Christa Black appearance. I thought it a good touch to have her out front on stage with the singers during one of the songs. Maybe the third time will be a charm since I've now missed out on capturing two versions of Israel's new tune: "We Have Overcome." Lacking that, I have been breaking out the guitar to experiment with that one a bit. I'm reminded that I need lessons (for my sake) and soundproofing (for my neighbors' sake). Maybe a switch to the banjo is in order.
Also worth noting is that Derek Webb makes a return visit to Houston this weekend. He's in Kemah on 14th and will be at Cy-Fair Christian Church on Sunday morning. I wish I could make it, but there's one thing bigger coming up at Lakewood this week: Carrie Hodge is performing again! Priorities. That's usually worth planning a return trip to church on Sunday morning for.
I'll settle for pondering a purchase of Derek's upcoming CD: The Ringing Bell.
