Monday Video: Lakewood Choir "Looking for You"

At some point, I'm going to have to catalogue my Monday video clips a bit better. Apparently, I'm getting off my plan of posting moments from prior webcasts. This week continues my trend, I suppose.

In savoring the praise & worship this past weekend, something stood out with me that doesn't normally do so. The performance by the choir deserves a little extra love, I think. The nature of the song struck me as something of a challenge to coordinate. Watch and see if you feel the same way ...

The tune is Kirk Franklin's "Looking for You." Congrats to the choir as well as director Michael Mellett for making it a thing of beauty this past weekend.

Thanks for posting this Greg! I really enjoyed this on Sat. night.

I also liked the new song they introduced Wed. (and sang Sat.), "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so."

Have a great week!

Yeah, I liked that one too.

The Wednesday performance of that song struck me as needing a bit more polish. But taking part in it Saturday, I think maybe all that was missing was bout 6,000 more people singing along. It really needs a hard rock band to do it full justice, I say. If I can pick out the chords for it, who knows ... maybe I'll pitch the idea ;-)

One last thing for today (I promise, ha)...

On Wednesday, they sang "Let It Rise" (I think that's the name). I really like this song, especially with Cindy leading. Do you know who sings this?

I love a good challenge. And that song has one of my favorite rhythmic moments to it, so I may as well look it up for my own sake.

I'm finding Holland Davis as the writer and performer. Still looking to see if there's anyone else that might have performed it.

UPDATE: I'm looking around Davis' church site to see if there's some video of him & his wife singing the song. Not enough time in the day to sift through them, but they're both pretty good ... and I like the heavy dose of Chris Tomlin songs they include in the praise & worship.
