Consider this a twofer. Marcos Witt's sermons won't make the broadcast schedule, so I'm running with a clip from the Sunday service for today's Monday Video.
First up here is Christa Black doing a great instrumental version of Michael W. Smith's "Holy Holy." Christa tours with Smith as the band's violinist, but also has her own EP out with songs that she sings. It was nice having some more strings in the orchestra for my taste. And the added visual of seeing Christa tower over saxophonist Randy Allison was definitely the sort of thing you don't see everday. Christa added to the entire praise & worship, but being a fan of guitar and classical music, I'm a sucker for a good instrumental number reliant on strings. And the performance for the first half of this video is off the charts for my own appreciation.
The second treat of this video is that you get another dose of what makes Marcos Witt Marcos Witt. The way he weaves music into his sermons isn't just entertaining ... for those of us who enjoy music as a form of worship, it's nourishing. I got down to the sanctuary late and heard the music literally blaring. I expected to see little old ladies bolting for the doors, it was so loud. It was all I could do to barely contain my glee and realize, "Oh yeah, Marcos is preaching today!"
There's a great ending of this sermon as well that's on the video site (I'm gradually moving from the Video Vault to a new site altogether for videos). Feel free to check it out.
