>Interesting find on Amazon.com here. Don't know anything about the author. Whitaker House is the publisher and it's a Christian publisher. What's they're take on Lakewood? Dunno. The book comes out at the end of the year. I'll naturally be interested enough to check it out and see if it's worth owning a copy.
Busy weekend at the day job. Busy enough to force me to miss church. I made up for it by finally grabbing the live feed via recorder. Reminds me of one thing that I love most about Saturday service - it's a much rawer vibe than Sunday. Joel's on his first delivery of the sermon, so if there's a flub or a mistake, it typically happens on Saturday. By Sunday, he's got it down pat.
I did make it for Tracy's presentation at Koinonia. I've had the thrill of operating the PowerPoint presentation that runs behind the teachers for the past two weeks. Simple task if there ever was one. Press two buttons, make sure you're in time with the speaker, and don't screw up. I love to jokingly thank the people that work the sound booth for letting me sit in a cramped corner of their workspace, press two buttons and look like a genius while they do all the real work. Tracy's presentation was particularly good due to the slides she did for her speech. Plus, her spin on the book (we're doing Raunikar's "Choosing God's Best" which I've blogged about a few times here during our Compass Class study of it) was well worth the time to hear. I'd cover it more if I could now. There's a few points that I think stand on their own as worth a little blogging. We'll have to see if more time becomes available (a possibility after the busy weekend I'm now wrapping up).
Back to another book note ... the guy working the sound booth had a copy of the new John Eldridge book. I definitely need to get that one. On another note, I just realized the other day that I'm drawing a blank when it comes to new music for the month. Anyone heard anything good out there?
