Just a mess of other worthwhile reading while I recover from a busy work schedule:
- Frank Lockwood points out some recent good news about Christian films debuting lately. "One Night With the King" and "Facing the Giants" have both done relatively well, with the former debuting in the Top 10 and the latter debuting at #15 while more than recouping the investment for making the film. Christianity Today has reviews of each here and here. The trailer for "One Night with the King" can be seen on YouTube.
- Speaking of CT mag, they've got a nice little interview with Chris Tomlin online also.
- Again, speaking of CT mag, they've got one of those nifty conversation-starting lists up about the 50 most influential books that have shaped evangelism. I can only check off the following:
- #3: Mere Christianity
- #13: Evidence that Demands a Verdict
- #32: The Cross and the Switchblade
- #33: The Late Great Planet Earth
- #42: The Purpose-Driven Life - The author of "Serve God, Save the Planet" has a good interview over at Grist. Be sure to check that out.
- Tim Merrill, a Colorado-based author and minister, stopped by Lakewood. He wasn't overly impressed, but nor is he entirely critical. To each their own. God uses us all, whether we be old cynics or young know-it-alls (ah, the joy of being somewhere inbetween!).
- Reminds me, though. I do need to get cracking on a transcript of the sermon. I'm still swamped at work and get the joy of missing church tonight (with a consolation prize of having software to record it, though). All Praise & Worship tonight ... so make it if you can.
